Activated Carbon Filters
Activated Carbon Filters (ACF) are used in water treatment and waste water treatment to remove unwanted odour, colour and taste from the water.
Working Principle
The raw water flows down from the filter inlet through the media bed. The activated carbon is the media that absorbs the water contaminants causing bad odour, taste and color. The clear odour free water can be collected at the outlet of the filter.
As per the SOP*, the filter media has to be cleaned periodically using the back wash method.
