Demineralization Plants
The Demineralization (DM) Plants remove the minerals like sodium, calcium, iron, copper, chloride, sulphate, nitrate etc. present in the water using Ion Exchange process.
Working Principle
The raw water flows down from the first filter inlet through the cationic resin where the cations are exchanged with hydrogen ions, then the water enters the second filter where the anions are exchanged with hydroxyl ions.
As given in the SOP*, the resins have to be replaced as required.
